Privacy Policy
Effective 19 August 2026. Plain English, no legal fog: what we collect, why, who sees it, and how to make us delete it.
Who we are
PropaneCostPerGallon.com is operated by Digital Signet Limited, 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. What we collect
Most of this site needs nothing from you. You can read every price page without giving us any personal information. We collect data only when you use one of two features:
- Quote requests: your name, phone number, email address, town, ZIP code, tank size, tank type, and the service you need.
- Price and availability alerts: your email address and the state you chose.
When you submit either form we also record your IP address and the date and time of your submission in a consent log. We use this to prevent abuse of the forms and to keep a record that you agreed to this policy.
How we use it
- To share your quote request with up to three local propane suppliers who serve your ZIP code, so they can contact you with a quote.
- To send the alerts you signed up for.
- To keep a record of your consent.
Who we share it with
When you request a quote, we share your contact details, your name, phone number, and email, along with your town, ZIP code, tank size and type, and the service you need, with up to three local propane suppliers who serve your area. They use those details to contact you with a quote. That is the whole point of the service: connecting you with local suppliers who can quote you.
Those suppliers may pay us a referral fee for connecting them with your request. We do not sell your details to marketing lists, data brokers, or anyone outside the suppliers quoting your specific request. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, sharing your details with suppliers in exchange for a fee can be classed as a "sale" or "share" of personal information. If you would rather we did not share your details, use our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page and we will stop.
Like every website, we rely on a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf: Resend (email delivery), Hetzner (hosting, EU), Cloudflare (DNS and security), and Google Analytics (aggregate site statistics). We require our service providers to process personal data only for the services they provide to us and in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
Advertising: we do not serve third-party display advertising on this site and we do not use interest-based advertising cookies. The site is supported by supplier referrals and by the quote matching described above, not by ad networks.
International transfers
We are a UK controller and this service is aimed at US consumers, so your data may be processed in the United States and other countries by us and by the service providers listed above. Where UK or EU data protection law applies to a transfer, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy arrangements or standard contractual clauses.
Legal basis
We process your data on the basis of your consent, which you give when you submit a form. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us or using the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
How long we keep it
- Quote requests and quotes: up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Alert subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
- Consent records: up to 6 years, because they are our legal record that you agreed to be contacted.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the data we hold about you (access);
- ask us to correct it (rectification);
- ask us to delete it (erasure);
- ask us to limit what we do with it (restriction);
- object to our processing of it (objection);
- receive the data you gave us in a portable format (data portability), where applicable;
- withdraw your consent at any time.
Email privacy@digitalsignet.com and we will act on your request within one month. If you are in the UK or EU you can also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk) or your local supervisory authority.
Your California privacy choices
We do not serve third-party display advertising and we do not use interest-based advertising cookies. The only time your information is shared for value is the supplier matching described above: when you submit a quote request, we pass your details to the suppliers quoting it.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), sharing your details with suppliers in exchange for a fee can be classed as a "sale" or a "share" of personal information. If you are a California resident and would prefer that your information is not shared this way, you can opt out in any of the following ways:
- Use our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page and we will stop.
- Turn on the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser. When we detect a GPC signal from your browser, we treat it as an opt-out request for that browser.
- Email privacy@digitalsignet.com with your request.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful, in aggregate. Google Analytics uses cookies and pseudonymous identifiers to measure traffic. We do not serve third-party display advertising and do not set interest-based advertising cookies. The only cookies set when you submit a quote or alert form are those needed to make the form work and to record your consent.
Children
This service is not intended for children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy we will post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change affects how your existing data is used, we will email you first.
